Donata Chiricò insegna Filosofia del Linguaggio e della Comunicazione presso l’Università Calabria. Sua principale linea di ricerca è lo studio dei rapporti tra corpo, mente e linguaggio. Negli ultimi anni si è interessata alla teoria dell’accessibilità e alla storia filosofica della lingua dei segni e della sordità (Premio Tarra 2017: ricerche e studi per la sordità). Attualmente si occupa di filosofia del linguaggio dell’età moderna, di storia semiotico-linguistica del potere e delle discriminazioni e di studi sull’ascolto in quanto fondamento biologico della cognizione umana e del suo carattere non specificamente algoritmico. In quest’ultimo ambito suo specifico interesse è lo studio della relazione tra evoluzione dell’orecchio e della voce e antropogenesi. Donata Chiricò teaches Philosophy of Language and Communication at the University of Calabria. Her main area of research is the study of the relationships between body, mind and language. Recently she has been interested in the theory of accessibility and the philosophical history of sign language and deafness (Premio Tarra 2017: research and studies for deafness). She is currently working on the philosophy of language in the modern age, the semiotic-linguistic history of power and discrimination and studies on listening as the biological foundation of human cognition and its non-specifically algorithmic character. Her specific subject in this area is the study of the relationship between the evolution of the ear and the voice and anthropogenesis.
